Nicole Mody has had over ten years of experience in marketing and brand building.
From an internship in advertising and setting up a dance school, to running her own event management company, to cricket and mainstream events, she has constantly challenged herself to be future ready. Her career has been largely event oriented, from ideation to execution in each project. This includes the creative process that lends itself to marketing and advertising strategy.
Conceptualising and creating large format public events became a draw, as did the marketing. She moved to more ‘traditional’ event management and was part of a team at Seventy EMG that conceptualized and created two of India’s finest festival properties: India Bike Week and Zambhala. Three years working intimately with and marketing these festivals helped sharply hone Nicole’s skills in marketing and content creation.
Nicole is an amateur yogi, semi professional dancer and a self-taught cook. She thoroughly enjoys experimenting with different forms of expression, most importantly food. She is the curator for food at the Kala Ghoda Arts Festival, a section she has helped create and popularize in 2012 with Mumbai’s most loved chefs and restaurateurs teaching a receptive audience how to make their signature dishes.
She is the author/editor of ‘Flavours of Kala Ghoda’ – a book of compiled recipes from her 5 years as curator of the food section at the Festival. The book was conceptualized, written, edited and partly designed by Nicole and released in February 2016.
She enjoys food, reading, writing, travelling, and spends a large part of her day keeping up to date with the latest trends in food, marketing and holiday destinations.
